Van digitale foto naar canvas of fotoprint: wie wil er nou geen echte ‘Frielink’ aan de muur? Naast mijn werk als advocaat en rechtswetenschapper ben ik al jaren actief als niet-professionele fotograaf.
Mijn foto’s halen soms de krant of een internationaal maritiem tijdschrift. Een bescheiden selectie is te zien in mijn virtuele winkel bij ‘Werk aan de Muur’ en daar ook te bestellen. Wellicht zit er een foto tussen die je in gedachten al aan de muur ziet hangen.
Ik vind het fantastisch dat mensen vooral enthousiast zijn over de collectie foto’s van flamingos en de foto van het beroemde Penha-gebouw in Curaçao. Meerdere foto’s zijn ook uitstekend geschikt als ‘kantoorkunst’, bijvoorbeeld voor in kantoren, hotels of openbare ruimten.
Categorieën (onder meer): schepen, vliegtuigen, auto’s, planten en bloemen, beelden, gebouwen, landschappen, dieren en zonsondergangen.

From digital photo to canvas or photo print. Who wouldn’t want a real “Frielink” on the wall? In addition to my work as a lawyer and legal scholar, I have been active as a non-professional photographer for years.
My photos sometimes make it to the newspaper or an international maritime magazine. I am very pleased that my flamingo collection is quite popular as is the picture of the famous Penha-building in Curaçao. Multiple photographs are also excellent as “corporate art,” for example, for use in offices, hotels or public spaces.

En zo is het allemaal begonnen: met een boxcamera van Kodak. Deze foto is gemaakt door mijn (helaas al overleden) vader in de tweede helft van de jaren ’60 van de vorige eeuw. Mijn eerste stapjes als amateurfotograaf.
And this is how it all started: with a Kodak box camera. This photo was taken by my (unfortunately already deceased) father in the second half of the 1960s. My first steps as an amateur photographer.

Bijzonder is dat mijn vader zelf ook met deze boxcamera foto’s heeft gemaakt. Op de foto hieronder is hij te zien met de boxcamera op een zeilboot. Het is een foto van een oude foto dus de kwaliteit is helaas mager.
Remarkably, my father took pictures with the same box camera himself. The photo below shows him with the box camera on a sailboat. It is a photo of an old photograph so unfortunately the quality is poor.
